Seed certification is a government organisation to regulate seed production and maintain genetic purity and produce high quality seeds formulated by a set of rules and regulations enforced by seed legislation.
The Tamil Nadu Organic Certification Department (TNOCD) aims to promote, inspect, and certify organic agricultural production in accordance with NPOP (National Programme for Organic Production) standards. Key objectives include protecting the environment, restoring natural resources, ensuring safe food, improving soil health, and facilitating the growth of organic farming, exports, and farmer income.
APEDA approved certification system followed and certificates were issued to the producers, processors and traders. Incentives given to the organic farmers and subsidized assistance were provided to the organic operators for pesticide residual analysis of the product.
