Kodiveri Dam :
Kodiveri Dam is located 51 km from Erode and 12 km from Kobichettipalayam. It is a recreational tourist destination. It is a check dam and reservoir built across Bhavani River. Its entire natural environment is a scenic spot and a major recreational destination for local and foreign tourists.
Bhavanisagar Dam:
Bhavanisagar Dam is located 76 km from Erode. The second largest dam in Tamil Nadu, it is a clay-built dam. Bhavanisagar’s reservoir is surrounded by a beautiful landscape of mountains. Bhavanisagar Dam Park is under the maintenance of Public Works Department. It is a park full of great entertainment features for kids to adults alike.
Chillout Theme Park
Chillout Theme Park is one of the major entertainment and recreation destinations in Erode, located on Perundurai–Vellode Road near Perundurai. It is a composite entertainment zone that includes a water theme park, resort, restaurant, banquet halls, and snow park facilities. The park is situated in a pollution-free and green environment, making it suitable for family outings, school trips, and weekend tourism.
Vellode Birds Sanctuary
The bird sanctuary is situated on Periyakulam lake in Vadamugam Vellodu village near Chennimalai in Perundurai taluk of Erode district. It is located at a distance of 15 km from Erode. It was started in 1983 to build a bird sanctuary by planting trees around the lake in an area of 39.60 hectares. The sanctuary was expanded to an area of 77.185 hectares in 2000 under the Wildlife Act, 1972.
Birds such as yellow nosed stork, spoonbill, coot, snail stork, white sickle stork visit here from November to April. Apart from these, 109 species of birds also come and go from abroad. Pelicans from Australia and Austria, in particular, stay for up to four months and return with them to breed, lay eggs and hatch.
