1. New Pedagogy and Simplified Active Learning Methodology 2017 – 18
New pedagogy Method is Followed For I to III Standards . New text book is issued to 1 std students, in 1187 schools for the year 2017-18. Teacher hand book is Distributed to II to IV std handling teachers.
Simplified Active Learning Methodology is followed for IV & V std these methodologies develops the Achievement level of the students.
Active Learning Methodology 2017- 18
Active Learning methodology is followed in 502 schools for VI to VIII students of erode district. 304 Maths kit boxes and 304 science kit boxas are distributed toall middle schools to enhance the learning skills the teachers were given training to usage of Maths kit and science kits.

Universal Access
Ensuring cent percent schooling access to all school age children in the age group of 6 to 14 as envisaged in Tamil Nadu Right of children to free and Compulsory Education Rules, 2011 is one of the main objectives of SSA Mission. To have a instant bird’s eye view of status of Schooling Access in all the habitations in the State, both at primary and upper primary levels a scientific tool- GIS Mapping has been developed based on the norms provided in the Tamil Nadu Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Rules, 2011

The State government has notified the Children Right of Free and Compulsory Education Rules vide G.O(Ms) No.173, School Education (C2) Department dated 08.11.2011. State’s definition on neighbourhood schools is presented below.
(1)The area or limits of neighbourhood within which a school shall be established by the State Government is,
(a) a distance of one kilometer in respect of children in classes I to V,
(b) a distance of three kilometers in respect of children in classes VI to VIII.
