Tamil Nadu Housing Board Erode

1.1 About

City Improvement Trust (CIT)

Industrialization gave rise to urbanization and led to migration from rural to urban centres for employment, better living and education. Consequently, acute shortage of housing was felt in Chennai. To tackle the growing demand, CIT was formed in the year 1947, which become instant success, as it was the only respite for the people to avail budget home in various sizes & prices.

TNHB BORN – SHELTER TO SHELTERLESS

To meet the growing demand of housing across Tamil Nadu, scope of CIT was enlarged by forming TNHB by virtue of Tamil Nadu Housing Board Act, 1961. TNHB is committed to take up environmentally sustainable projects in strict adherence to environmental laws and deployment of eco-friendly technology. TNHB shares a glorious history in the Housing sector. In the last seven decades, it has provided housing stocks to nearly 4.40 lakh families, of which 1.32 lakh are for Economically Weaker Sections. Despite many ups and down in housing sector, TNHB has been resilient owing to its adaptive nature. Plots developed, flats and houses constructed are allotted to the general public under First come First Served basis in a very transparent manner.
